Overview of Mid-Atlantic English, Part 2

 
This is part 2 in my Overview of Mid-Atlantic English. In this segment, I describe the "aw" sound, why we say "forest" like "farst", the Mary-marry-merry distinction and the ferry-furry merger.

  1. Great stuff. I used to teach Communication at La Salle and had lots of fun showing students about their dialect.

    And I always threatened to print up t-shirts with the Eagles logo that said "Fluffya Iggles".
